Waylon Floyette Gammill
Waylon Floyett Gammill, 75, of Albuquerque, N.M., passed away Feb. 3, 2011, after a short illness. He was born July 17, 1935, in Myrtle, Miss. Mr. Gammill lived in Manila most of his teenage years until he graduated from Manila High School in 1954.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Peggy Gammill; daughter, Denise Martone; sons, Wendell Gammill, Mark Gammill and wife Laurie; grandson, Blake Gammill; brother, Kennoth Gammill and wife, Joan; sister, Marie Edwards; sisters-in-law, Virginia Gammill-Burgett and Maxine Gammill; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Vera Gammill; sister, Joyce Fitts; brothers, L.G. and Bill Gammill; and sister-in-law, Peggy Ruth Gammill.
He was a civilian mechanical engineer for the U.S. Air Force for 34 years, retiring in 2001. He was of the Baptist faith.
A celebration of his life was held Feb. 7, 2011, at Hope Evangelical Free Church in Albuquerque, N.M..
