Floyd Moran Sr.
Mr. Floyd Moran Sr., 86, of Blytheville, died Friday, Dec. 31, 2010, at Methodist University in Memphis.
Born in Armorel, he was a retired factory worker and of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob Ray and Geneva Moran; his spouse, Erline Jones Moran; two sons, Raymond Johnson and James Johnson; four brothers, Ike Ray, Bubba Ray, Bill Ray and J.C. Rockett; one daughter, Priscella Edenfield; and one sister, Sarah Moran.
He leaves 15 daughters, Louis Jessica and Mary Moran of Illinois, Katherine Moran of Tennessee, Edith (and Willie) Dorsey of Michigan, Arrelia (and Ronnie) Sullivan of Colorado, Cleo (and Lee) Lard, Debra (and Charles) Wells, Cynthia Talley, and Rose Heard of Arkansas, Angela (and Anthony) Williams and Shelia (and Ricky) Bunton of Texas; Lillie Whitehead of Michigan and Patricia Roman of Washington D.C.
Four sons, Floyd (and Sharon) Moran Jr. and John Moran of Michigan, and Vincent (and Roslyn) Moran and Lee (and Casandra) Moran of Texas;
Two sisters, Betty Hearn of Inkster, Mich., and Marilyn Rockett of California; and
Sixty-two grandchildren and 110 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 8, 2011, at New Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Lawrence Echols officiating. The family will receive visitors from 1 p.m. until the time of the service at the church. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
