Lois Mae James

Lois Mae James, 88, of Charleston, died Sunday, Jan. 2, 2011, in Fort Smith. She was born Dec. 5, 192,2 in Carlisle to Frank Rogers and Florence Smith, who preceded her in death.

She was a homemaker and attended the Freewill Baptist Church in Charleston.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Odie Eugene Smith; two daughters, Wanda Joyce Smith and Oda Eugenia Choatte; one son, Alfred Ray Smith; and two brothers, James "Buddy" Smith and Eugene Smith.

She leaves one daughter, Sharon Thrasher of Charleston;

Two sons, Jerry Wayne Smith and Paul James of Charleston;

One brother, Harvey Smith of Holland, Mich.; and

Eleven grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. today in the chapel of Wilson Funeral Home of Osceola with Bro. Gary Andrews officiating. Burial will follow in Rivercrest Gardens at Marie.
