A special Veteran's ceremony was held at the Buffalo Island Veteran's Park on Thursday, Nov. 11, at 11 a.m.
The newly completed Veteran's park is a tribute to Buffalo Island Veterans who have served in all branches during war and peace time.
Joe Hultquist welcomed the guests and veterans offering a brief history of Veteran's Day and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Hultquist saluted all veterans.
Captain Jeremy Howard of the Arkansas National Guard assisted Leachville Mayor Shelia Spurlock with a wreath laying ceremony.
Mayor Spurlock expressed appreciation for the veterans and the sacrifices they have made throughout the years. She thanked them for America's freedom.
Several of the committee members, including Chairman Scott Adams, were present for the first wreath laying ceremony held at the Veteran's Park.
Committee members include Myrna Adams, Maryln Looney, Beth Thompson, Karen and David Wallace, Joe and Kaye Hultquist, Barbara Lloyd and Amanda McFall.
Florist Gale Kennett provided the wreath.
Presenting the colors were Mr. Hultquist; Darryle Endfinger, retired Army Sgt. Major; Edward Young, and Dick Pace.
