Blytheville Wholesale Supply has risen from the ashes of a fire that destroyed the business on Sept. 6 and is now operating at 95 percent capacity, company officials said.
The fire destroyed the company's warehouse and office facilities. The spaces have now been cleaned up and rebuilt. But the fire did not stop the company from operating.
"We were not closed a single day," said Theresa Sweatt, assistant manager.
The company brought in a portable building for office space and resumed working as quickly as possible.
For a short while, some parts were housed in temporary quarters. But now, the entire business is back.
"We've pretty much gotten restocked," Sweatt said. "We try to keep the things (in stock) that our customers need to do their work."
Jimmy Merritt, a local heating and air conditioning contractor, said that if Blytheville Wholesale had not reopened, he and other locals would have had to drive to either Memphis or Jonesboro for parts and supplies.
"We just want to thank all of our loyal customers who were patient with us," Sweatt said. "We also want to thank those who called and encouraged us to rebuild and stay in business. We want to thank them all for their business."
