The Gosnell mayoral race will have to be finished in a runoff between Don Marshall and Tammie Fulks, with neither of the top two vote-getters receiving a majority.

With 297 votes (40.91 percent), Fulks was the top vote-getter, came out ahead of Marshall, who finished with 214 votes (29.48 percent),.

Fred Roberts received 115 votes (15.84 percent) in the six-person race, while Glenn Green had 40 (5.5 percent), Robert Charles got 34 (4.7 percent), and Willard Mosley earned 26 (3.6 percent).

Fulks says she "plans to get out there and talk to the people and would like to thank the people of Gosnell for their support." She says that she is ready to go to work to finish up the campaign.

Marshall is also ready to continue campaigning hard.

"I would like to thank everyone who supported me. I am going to hit the ground running starting tomorrow, and I won't let up."

In Gosnell City Council races, Nita Reams won the Ward 3, Position 1 by only 4 votes, edging out Terry Byrd. Reams got 95 votes, to Byrd's 91.

In the Ward 1, Position 1 race, Eric Blount defeated rivals Lisa Sellers Holifield and Joey Crawford. Blount had 145 votes, while Holifield got 42 and Crawford got 61.

In the Ward 2. Position 1 contest, Melissa Sellers was the victor, defeating Joshua Shelton by a vote count of 143-119.
