Volunteers are needed for Mississippi County's annual fall litter-pickup campaign Saturday, Sept. 25.
The cleanup is being held in conjunction with the Great Arkansas Cleanup, the annual fall statewide litter-pickup campaign promoted by Keep Arkansas Beautiful, a state affiliate of Keep America Beautiful Inc. and a division of the Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism.
This year's local cleanup is sponsored by Mississippi County.
Organized cleanup groups may pick up bags and gloves, while they last, from the Gosnell City Hall and the Keiser City Hall during regular business hours.
The Mississippi County Landfill will be open from 7 a.m.-3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 25 for those citizens and groups who participate in the cleanup. Noncommercial individuals will be able to bring their trash to the landfill for free on that day and municipalities and haulers for municipalities will receive a 50% discount.
T-shirts will also be available at the landfill that day for individuals who participate.
