The threat of severe weather Saturday has changed the cleanup day schedule for Blytheville, but not others.

The city of Blytheville has its cleanup day in conjunction with Greater Blytheville Area Chamber of Commerce's Spring Community Cleanup. But because of the threat of severe weather, the cleanup day has been rescheduled to May 1. All of the Chamber's Spring Community Cleanup activities, including the electronic waste dropoff at the Walmart Supercenter in Blytheville will take place on May 1.

The Mississippi County Landfill will still be opened as scheduled on Saturday for free dumping. When asked if the landfill would be open on May 1 as well, Mississippi County Judge Steve McGuire said he and the Mississippi County Quorum Court will decide that at a later time.

The city of Gosnell is also committed to holding its cleanup day Saturday as planned.

"We will have dumpsters set up on the Gosnell Community Center parking lot for free dumping for our citizens," Gosnell Mayor Dick Reams said.

Gosnell City Sanitation workers will also be out Saturday picking up curbside. Citizens are urged to have the items they want picked up curbside out on Saturday morning.

Manila citizens will not be affected by the weather, because they already have three additional cleanup days scheduled. Saturday May 1, 8 and 15 are all scheduled cleanup days for Manila citizens.
