MANILA -- The Manila School Board hired a new high school principal at its regular meeting Thursday.

After coming out of executive session to discuss personnel matters, the Manila School Board approved the hire of Robin Baugher, who is currently assistant elementary principal, as Manila High School principal. Baugher will be filling the position held by Pam Chipman, who announced at last month's board meeting that she is retiring this school year.

In other business, the board approved the renewal of all certified contracts as presented, agreed to move Rodney Cooper, elementary music teacher to high school choir director; move Dwight Booth, high school history teacher to high school agriculture teacher; and accepted the resignation of Kathy Boarden as custodian.

Superintendent Pam Castor reminded the board that the North Central Association will be conducting its visit March 29 and 30. She also told board members that there will be a Benchmark Bash for students on April 8 at the Middle School.
