Jeannie Howard, 69, passed away Monday, March 1, 2010, at her residence. She was born Jan. 15, 1941, in Blytheville to the late Lois and Nettie Love. She was a homemaker and loved to do crossword puzzles. Mrs. Howard was the number one women's tennis player for Morocco and number one bowler on the women's team. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, mother-in-law, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was devoted to her father and mother and grew the biggest tomato crop in the state for less than half an acre.
Survivors include her husband, Bobby Howard; a son and his wife, Michael Tim and Robin Howard of Aubrey, Texas; a daughter and her husband, Cynthia Kaye and Kevin Dempsey of Denton, Texas; three sisters, Laura Sutton of Jonesboro, Kathy Gilbreath of San Antonio, Texas and Tommie Beckham of Dripping Springs, Texas; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Bobby Dean Howard.
A graveside service was held at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 3, at the Monette Memorial Cemetery. Burial was under the direction of Gregg Funeral Home of Monette.
Visitation was Wednesday from 1-3 p.m. at the Gregg Funeral Home in Monette.
