Riverside broke the century mark to pick up its 10th win of the season on senior night as they pounded out a 102-82 victory over Brookland Friday, Feb. 12, at Lake City.

Sophomore Cole Winford poured in a career high 33 points while pulling down 16 rebounds to lead Riverside's onslaught. Jake Love pumped in 23 while Josh Anderson added 22 more as the Rebels placed three players in double figures. Tyler Rolland just missed double digits, scoring nine points, and grabbed 11 rebounds in aiding the Rebel cause.

Riverside went to the free throw line an astounding 64 times, connecting on 32 for a 50 percent performance.

Brookland also placed three players in double figures, led by Spencer Elder's 16 points. Jared Smith tallied 12 while Brent Davis contributed 10 for the Bearcats, who trailed 48-38 at the half. Brookland hit nine of 19 from the foul stripe and poured in 18 three pointers on the night.

Riverside improved to 10-17 on the season while the Bearcats dropped to 7-17.

The Lady Rebels split a pair of non-conference games, losing to Gosnell 65-48 Thursday night at Lake City before bouncing back with a 45-35 win Friday night at home.

Lauren Weaver and Ashley Calvert both recorded double-doubles in the Lady Rebel's win against Brookland. Weaver scored a game high 22 points and pulled down 10 rebounds while Calvert added 12 points and 10 boards.

Jade Stevens led the Lady Bearcats with 13 points while Samantha Fowler added 10.

Candace Miller scored 18 points to lead four Gosnell players in double digits in the Lady Pirate's victory Thursday night at Lake City. Kemahri Soward tallied 17 while Brittany Taylor netted 14 and Brooke Godsey pitched in 12 more.

Meagan Goza led Riverside with 17 points while Michelle Cobb scored 12 more for the Lady Rebels. Lauren Weaver scored eight, Kyley Campbell netted seven while Becca Frayer and Ashley Calvert pitched in two points apiece.

Gosnell held a slim 16-14 edge after the first quarter and stretched their lead to 37-30 by halftime. The Lady Pirates took a 47-41 lead into the fourth quarter.

Riverside's senior boys will begin 2A-3 District Tournament play Monday night at Rector. The sixth seeded Rebels will take on seventh seeded Cross County at 8:30. The third seeded Lady Rebels gained a first round bye and will begin tournament play Tuesday night at 8:00 against the winner Monday night's first round game between Turrell and Marked Tree.
