Marked Tree proved to be a poor host, ending both Riverside's boys and girls basketball seasons with a pair of victories in the 2A-3 junior high district tournament. The Indians stopped the junior Rebels with a 41-33 win Wednesday night, Feb. 10, while the Lady Indians downed the Lady Rebels 46-35 Thursday night.

Allen Buchanan pumped in 13 points to lead Marked Tree in Wednesday night's win over the junior Rebels. Marked Tree raced to an 11-4 lead after the first quarter and took a 21-16 advantage into the dressing room at the half. The Rebels fought back in the third period, outscoring the Indians 10-7 to cut the lead to 28-26 heading into the final frame.

Logan Meurer led Riverside, scoring 11 points, while Braden Peaster and Alteeno Sain added nine and eight points respectively. Dylan Wright chipped in five points.

Alytrius Perry led the Lady Indians past Riverside, scoring 16 points while Q. Perry added 14 more.

Kenzley Wilson led Riverside with a game high 18 points while Emily Manues added 12 more. Natalie Milligan and Ashlyn Snyder scored two points each while Lindsey Bennett added one point.
