The Mississippi County Cooperative Extension Service will hold the 2010 Cotton and Corn Production Meeting at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Northeast Research and Extension Center in Keiser. The Mississippi County Cooperative Extension Service will hold the 2010 Cotton and Corn Production Meeting at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Northeast Research and Extension Center in Keiser.

Blake McClelland, Cooperative Extension agent for Mississippi County, said the meeting is open to all interested persons in the area. Registration will start at 8 a.m. and the meeting will begin at 8:30 a.m. Lunch will be provided thanks to industry sponsors.

The meeting will update attendees on the latest in cotton and corn production and will feature specialists from the University of Arkansas.

Speakers include Tom Barber, state cotton specialist; Gus Lorenz, Extension entomologist; Fred Bourland, director of The Northeast Research and Extension Center; Jason Kelley, state corn specialist; Scott Monfort, Extension plant pathologist; and McClelland.

"We will discuss cotton and corn crop management, weed, nematode and insect management, and variety selection," McClelland said. "CEU's will be available."
