Manila swept through the 3A-3 conference with a pair of victories over Rivercrest and Piggott last week. The Lady Lions gunned down the Lady Colts 56-46 Monday night at Wilson before manhandling Piggott 49-36 Thursday night at Manila.
Kristen Painter fired in a game high 15 points while sharpshooter Tiffany Pentecost drilled four three pointers, all in the first quarter, to finish with 12 points in Manila's win over Rivercrest.
Kimberly Wise scored nine points, Savannah Jones netted eight, freshman Courtney Craine tallied seven while Katie Donner pitched in four. Carla Kemp closed out the scoring with one point.
Aleta Cannon poured in a game high 22 points to lead Rivercrest.
Manila took an 18-13 first period lead and held a 34-21 advantage at halftime. The Lady Lions took a 46-38 lead into the final frame.
In Thursday night's win against Piggott, Kimberly Wise and Carla Kemp scored 16 and 15 points respectively to pace the Lady Lions. Courtney Craine tallied six points while Kristen Painter, Maegan Presson and Jordan Robertson all added four points apiece.
Breanna Wright led Piggott with eight points.
Manila jumped to a 16-5 first quarter lead and held a whopping 30-11 advantage going into the dressing room at the half. The Lady Lions took a 40-24 lead into the fourth period.
In junior high action, Manila dropped a 44-31 decision to Rivercrest before bouncing back to take a 43-36 win over Piggott.
Kirsten Adcock paced the Lions with nine points while Devon Burrow added seven in Manila's loss to Rivercrest. Shelby Wallace scored five, Taylor Bishop tallied four, Morgan Earnest contributed three, Kailin Shelton netted two while Taylor Teague scored one point.
In Manila's victory over Piggott, Shelby Wallace scored a game high 14 points to lead the Lady Lion attack. Morgan Earnest and Taylor Teague pitched in eight points apiece, Taylor Bishop tallied five, Kirsten Adcock scored four while Devon Burrow and Bailey Towell added two points apiece.
Manila will return to action in the NEA Tournament, Wednesday, Dec. 23, at noon as the number three seed. The Lady Lions will take on the winner of Monday's first round game between Weiner and Crowley's Ridge Academy.
