Jones (right-center) and Mylas Jeffers (second from right) speak with Wastewater Superintendent Kenneth Ellis (far right) and his crew Wednesday afternoon on Lee Circle. The Wastewater Department spent most of Wednesday pumping water off the street, left by a 2-inch downpour Tuesday afternoon. Jones said he and Jeffers received several calls from residents in the area about the flooding. Jones said water was knee high in some parts, and hampered residents as they took their children to school Wednesday morning. Jones and Jeffers thanked the Wastewater crew for coming out Wednesday morning and staying most of the day in the cold temperatures.
