Another student of the Blytheville School system was removed from school grounds by police Thursday, after assaulting two school employees, according to a report by Blytheville Police.

At 9:45 a.m., officers were called to the Blytheville Intermediate School on East Moultrie for a report of a student causing problems. Officers spoke with principal Alvin Clay, who stated that the 12-year-old black male student had struck a teacher with his fist and broke a lamp in Clay's office.

The teacher, identified as Danna Woods, told police that the student was in class when he attempted to stab a hole in a basketball with his pencil. Woods stated that she then moved the student across the gym where he continued poking the ball with his pencil. The student then began yelling at the other students and giving them the middle finger.

Woods then told the student to sit down, but the student struck her with his fist on her left arm. Woods then stated that she had to physically hold the student down to refrain him from fighting her, while she sent another student to get Mr. Clay. Woods then stated that while she was waiting on Mr. Clay to get there, the student threatened to kill her along with Mr. Clay and the police.

Clay arrived and had to physically carry the student from the gym to his office, where the student became angry and knocked a lamp off of Clay's desk, breaking it. Police were then called to the school.

Officers took the student into custody and transported him to the police station where the student was charged with battery 2nd, terroristic threatening, and criminal mischief.

The Juvenile Office was contacted and a court date was set for the student for Oct. 29.
