The Leachville High School Class of 1954 met Labor Day weekend for their 55th year class reunion.
Starting the festivities off, the class met Friday night, Sept. 4, at the home of Snowden and Martha Hawkins. Larry Brooks led in prayer as the class was treated to a delicious meal of barbecue pork loin, shrimp, chicken salad, assorted cheeses, bread, and desserts. The meal was co-hosted by Shawn Hawkins of Memphis, daughter of the Hawkins.
Saturday, Sept. 5, the class met at Big Butts Barbecue for a seafood buffet banquet. Donald Galyean led the group in prayer. After the meal, the class met outside for a group picture. The class was invited to the home of Jack and Moba Lee Miller for snacks and desserts.
During the reunion, Ronnie Kennett led a memorial to honor the 18 classmates who have passed away over the years. All the class members enjoyed sharing memories of those they had lost but had not forgotten.
As each classmate left, they wished each other well and planned to meet again in five years. They all agreed they are looking forward to their 60th reunion.
