Rosie Macon Lutz
Rosie Macon Lutz, 84, of Manila, died Sunday, Sept. 20, 2009, at her home. Born at Manila, she was the daughter of the late General and Annie Martin May and was a lifelong Manila resident. She was of the Pentecostal faith, a homemaker and loving mother of nine children.
Mrs. Lutz was also preceded in death by her husbands, James W. Macon and Marvin Lutz, her sons, James "Bub" Macon and David Macon; two brothers and a sister.
She is survived by seven daughters, Virginia Hart, Shirley Hice and Faye Shepperson, all of Manila; Velma Lee Holt of Leachville, Geneva Jackson, LaVonda Newton and Juanita Reed, all of Manila; 33 grandchildren, 77 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren; and her special friend, Jerry Underwood, of Manila.
The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 23, at Howard Funeral Chapel in Manila with Rev. Huey Meherg and Steven McGehee officiating. Burial was in Manila Cemetery.
The family received visitors from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
