Perry Wayne Dixon has joined Manila Farm Bureau staff as an agent and is looking forward to serving the community and the surrounding area.
Dixon became a Farm Bureau agent in May and has been working at the Blytheville office.
He is stepping in for Paul Wildy who retired in August after 30 years with Farm Bureau.
Dixon is a native of Dell and graduated from Gosnell High School in 2003 and Arkansas State University in May 2007. He has an ag/business degree from ASU.
He became interested in the insurance business as a way to help people.
"I was familiar with Farm Bureau through my family and we had always had good service from them," Dixon said. "We are fortunate to have an adjuster in the area we serve."
Dixon comes from a farming background. He is the grandson of Perry and Shelda Dixon, former Mississippi County Farm Family of the Year. He is the son of Mark Dixon, former State Trooper, and Brenda Dixon, both of Dell. His other grandparents are John and JoAnn Parish of Gosnell.
He is married to the former Angie Stubblefield of Keiser who works at Arkansas Northeastern College. They live in the Blytheville area but have plans to move to the Manila area.
Dixon said the Manila staff, secretary Tina Walton and agent J.P. Baugher, have been very welcoming and helpful getting him settled in his new office.
Dixon has completed training and certification and can write all types of insurance including home, automobile, life, Blue Cross and Blue Shield health insurance, and crop insurance.
Dixon's regular office hours will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. but he will be flexible when needed. The office number is 561-3601 and the office is located at 603 South Highway 77.
"Insurance is about service and helping people," Dixon said. "I am looking forward to being part of the community."
