Gregg Funeral Home expands to Caraway

Gregg Funeral Home in Caraway held open house Sunday afternoon, Aug. 23, and welcomed guests from all across Northeast Arkansas.

Owner Buddy Hebert and his full staff of employees were on hand to greet visitors and direct tours through the newly renovated facility on main street. Refreshments were served in the kitchen and hospitality area.

"It gives us great joy to open our service here in Caraway," Hebert said. "The people in this area have requested that we build here, so they would not have to go out of town when they experience the loss of a loved one and plan their funeral service."

"Gregg's has been in service for 132 years and we are still experiencing growth throughout Northeast Arkansas," he said. "We have establishments in Jonesboro, Harrisburg, Monette and now Caraway."

Caraway Mayor Barry Riley presented Hebert with a framed certificate proclaiming it Gregg Funeral Home Day in the City of Caraway. Several councilmen and city officials were on hand for the open house.

Five $20 gift certificates were donated by Caraway businesses and awarded as door prizes along with open house souvenir cups and fans. Merchant gift certificates were from Western Auto, Dollar General, Caraway Drug and Flowers, Central Kwik Shop, and Roach's Thriftway.

The Gregg Funeral Home Caraway facility has a large vaulted ceiling chapel that seats 150 people. It has three visitation rooms, as well as a lounge and full service kitchen. A privacy partition is provided for the family of the deceased during the services.

Multipurpose rooms can be used before and after services, as needed. A flower receiving room has been placed at the south entrance for delivery convenience, during and after regular business hours. A casket selection room has been added on the east side of the building to help families make complete funeral arrangements and to meet burial needs.

Parking will be available at the north and south entrances and on the east side of the building.
