An Osceola woman has died as the result of injuries she suffered in a two-vehicle accident Saturday morning in Luxora according to a report from the Arkansas State Police.
Ruth L. Harris, 72, of Osceola, was the passenger in a blue 2001 Chevrolet pickup, which was being driven northbound on Highway 61 by Frank Harris, 49, of Osceola. Frank Harris suffered serious injuries and was flown from the scene by Air-Evac Helicopter to The Regional Medical Center in Memphis, where he is listed in critical condition.
The accident apparently happened when a southbound 2008 white Chevrolet pickup, being driven southbound by Michael Lee Wilson, 51, of Blytheville, crossed the center line and struck the Harris vehicle head on. Wilson was transported by Pafford EMS to Great River Medical Center in Blytheville, then transferred to The Med, where he is listed in good condition.
Ruth Harris was flown from the scene by Hospital Wing Helicopter to The Med, where she died Sunday from injuries she received in the accident.
Both Frank and Ruth Harris had to be extricated from their vehicle by members of the Osceola Fire Department and the Blytheville Emergency Squad.
Frank and Ruth Harris were wearing seat belts, Wilson was not wearing a seat belt in the accident according to the Arkansas State Police.
