Blytheville Police are investigating the thefts from several businesses over the weekend, according to reports. Sunday at 2:36 a.m., officers responded to an alarm at Gary's Food Mart at 209 Moultrie. When officers arrived, they found the front glass door of the business was shattered. ...

Blytheville Police are investigating the thefts from several businesses over the weekend, according to reports.

Sunday at 2:36 a.m., officers responded to an alarm at Gary's Food Mart at 209 Moultrie. When officers arrived, they found the front glass door of the business was shattered. Officers cleared the business while the owner, Gary Wren, arrived on the scene and advised that the store's safe had been opened and an undetermined amount of cash was taken from the store. Wren told officers that his store in Osceola had been broken into the same way on a previous date.

Friday at 1 p.m., officers were called to the Travelodge, where Sammy Patel reported that individuals had gained access to the main office, and then to a register, where an undetermined amount of money was taken from the business, along with two security cameras.

Friday at 8 a.m., officers were called to Pear Tree Apartments on South Ruddle for a report of newspaper vending machine on the property. The newspaper vending machine belonged to the Blytheville Courier News and had been broken into and the money taken. The Courier News recovered the machine and later notified police that a second machine was missing, this time from the Waffle Inn on East Main.

The amount of money missing from the machines was approximately $15. The two machines are valued at $250 each.

Investigators with the Blytheville Police Department CID Division are investigating several thefts that occurred over the weekend according to reports from the department.

Sunday at 5:15 p.m., police were called to the 2200 block of Birch, where Mrs. Lucille Golden reported that she had taken a quick trip to the store, and when she returned, she discovered that her Xbox 360 and games valued at $600 had been taken from a shed on her property.

Sunday at 9:30 a.m., William Brandon reported to police that his 1991 Chevrolet S-10 had been broken into while parked at the 200 block of Simon. Brandon said two speakers and speaker boxes valued at $300 were missing from the vehicle.

Sunday at 9:34 p.m., police were called to the 1500 block of Chickasawba for a vehicle alarm. Officers found a 2003 Dodge Ram pickup alarm activated with the driver's side window shattered and the stereo missing. The stereo is valued at $175.

Leshawn Gillard of Memphis called Blytheville Police on Saturday to report that he was in Blytheville attending a funeral on Friday, and then after the funeral, he went to some relatives' house in the 700 block of East Rose, where his silver and black Ruger pistol came up missing. The gun is valued at $350.

Saturday at 10:15 p.m., police were called to the 2200 block of West McHaney, where Rose Ross reported that when she arrived home at 10 p.m. and went inside her bedroom, she found her television missing. The value of the television is believed to be $300.
