Frances Louise Payne
Frances Louise Payne, 79, of Jonesboro died Wednesday, July 15, 2009, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center after having heart problems for several years. Mrs. Payne was born Feb. 25, 1930, in Tupelo, Miss., to the late Mark Brown and Lou (Kirby) Brown. She was a retired nurses aide, loved to sing, was a dedicated and active member of the Victory Lighthouse Pentecostal Church of God where she taught Sunday School and was a youth leader.
Survivors include two sons, Jerry Payne Sr. and wife, Diane, of Portageville, Mo., and Ernie Rucker of Jonesboro; three daughters, Barbara Hawkins of Timmonsville, S.C., Mary Taylor and husband, Hank, of Jonesboro, and Sue Taylor of Jonesboro; a brother, Otis Brown of Tupelo, Miss.; 13 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Payne was preceded in death by her husband Charlie Mack Payne; her parents; two brothers, Carl Brown and Howard Brown; four sisters, Jean Halmark, Hilda Hughes, Ruth Garner and Mildred Lesley.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 18, at the Victory Lighthouse Pentecostal Church of God, 400 Jonathan, Jonesboro, with the Rev. Tim Russell and Rev. Jason Anderson officiating. Burial was at Trinity Cemetery, Bono.
The family received visitors at the Victory Lighthouse Pentecostal Church of God on Friday from 6-9 p.m.
Faith Funeral Service of Manila was in charge of arrangements.
