New Blytheville City Councilwoman Carol White has begun a weekly meeting at the Blytheville branch of the Mississippi County Library system in an effort of find solutions to community issues.

The meetings, which are open to the public, will be at 6:30 p.m. each Thursday.

They will be weekly until August, then turn into a once-a-month meeting, White said.

She said the goals are to prepare a five-year plan to the city and community leaders on the needs and solutions for the city.

White noted, thus far, five areas have been identified: education, jobs/employment, health care, recreation, and housing.
