A Blytheville man is facing charges of burglary and criminal mischief after he allegedly broke into a residence and destroyed some property according to police.
Devion Spencer, 24, is accused of breaking into the home of Erica Bailey in the 2300 block of Marguerite Sunday afternoon and damaging several items of furniture inside the home and also causing damage to Bailey's vehicle.
At 11:50 a.m. Sunday, police were called to the residence by Bailey, who said she was at her mother's house when Spencer called her told her she needed to go check on her home because he had just left there. Bailey said Spencer told her on the phone that he broke all of her furniture in the house.
Bailey went to her home and found that she could not get inside the home through the front door because something was blocking the doorway. Bailey then called police, and as she was waiting on officers to arrive, Spencer pulled into her front yard in a blue Ford Expedition. Bailey then said she got into her vehicle while Spencer ran up to her car and tried to punch the driver's side window out.
Bailey told Spencer that she had called police and that they were on the way to her home, so Spencer then left the area.
When police arrived, Bailey, along with the officers, made entry into the home and found the sofa against the front door upside down, along with several pieces of furniture turned over and broken.
Bailey told officers that Spencer was her ex-boyfriend and did not live with her, and had not lived with her for several months.
