The NEA Town Courier coverage area was challenged with an unprecedented 8-11 inches of snow from two winter weather events this past week, which made road conditions impassable for motorists not in four-wheel drive vehicles. The frigid temperatures, which were as low as 1 degree and stayed in the single digits for a good portion of the week, took a toll on pipes as well and caused threats of rolling blackouts, with some in northeast Arkansas losing their power for an hour or so as the electric companies fought to keep up with the demand.. ...
