Audit: Former city of Gosnell employee used city credit cards for personal purchases

The 2018 audit of the City of Gosnell indicates former Gosnell city clerk/treasurer Kathleen Hunt-Cross used city credit cards for personal use. Cross resigned abruptly on March 19, 2020. “On March 17, 2020, an employee for the City of Gosnell issued a letter stating they had used the City’s Wal-Mart credit card and Wex gas card for personal use,” the audit reads. ...

Wil Allen pleads guilty

Former Mississippi County Landfill director Wil Allen pled guilty to honest services fraud last Tuesday in federal court in Little Rock, according to court records. Allen was terminated in September 2018 after accusations he and his friend Joe Harlon Hamlett were involved in a scheme that allowed Ross Farms Trucking to dump about 70 loads that were never billed, which amounts to about $20,000.
