Larry Paul "Friday Joe" Garrison, 73, of Paragould, former longtime Jonesboro resident, the son of the late Kenneth and Mary Ann Beaver Garrison, passed from this life Thursday, March 26, 2020, at the Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould. Born and raised in Leachville, he was a 1964 graduate of Leachville High School and had been an Arkansas State Trooper for 28 years, retiring in 2003. During his time with the state police, he served on the Drug Task Force for several years. "Friday Joe", as he was known, was fond of classic cars and trucks, old western movies, spending time with friends at Burger King and McDonalds and was of the Baptist faith. ...

A Blytheville man lost his life in a shooting Friday. According to Blytheville Police Department Capt. John Frazier, 19-year-old Tadarius Daniels perished in the incident, while another individual sustained non-life-threatening injuries. "On March 27th, 2020 officers of the Blytheville Police Department responded to the Great River Medical Center in reference to two individuals who had been shot," Frazier said. ...
