Riverside School board renews principal contracts

Armorel to return to school Monday after being out two days because of flu

On Wednesday, Armorel Superintendent Tiffany Morgan said that the Armorel School District would be closed Thursday and Friday after several students and staff have been sick with the flu. A week or so ago I said I would not write about weather again for a while but I need to retract just a little. I forgot all about Feb. 2 being Groundhog Day. Evidently, according to the reports, Punxsutawney Phil has predicted an early spring. He did not see his shadow so I guess that means winter will soon be over. I certainly hope his prediction is on target...

Listen to wise counsel

One thing that I have always made sure to do when around my elders, if nothing else is to listen. From what I have noticed, older people have a lot to talk about, so when they talk it is worth listening to. The Bible tells us to be quick to listen and slow to speak. I think this applies heavily when listening to those who have lived longer and have been through a lot more than we have...
