Leachville sales tax vote moved to April

Leachville Mayor Rodney Robertson welcomed everyone to the meeting on Monday evening, which covered two important issues, the one-cent proposed city sales tax and the 2020 census. Attempted murder charges filed against Caraway man

JONESBORO – Second Judicial District Prosecuting Attorney Scott Ellington announced Wednesday he filed two counts of attempted capital murder charges against a Caraway man who shot at two police officers, injuring one, in January. Eugene Collins, 49, was charged in the Eastern District of Craighead County. Collins, who is held in the Craighead County jail on a $5 million bond, also faces seven charges of aggravated assault and seven charges of terroristic threatening...

Armorel schools to close because of flu

Blytheville mural to be erected this spring

Blytheville Mayoral Assistant Cody Wyatt said a new mural will be going up on Main Street by this spring. Wyatt explained, “We were originally going to do 316 W. Ash but we had to regroup and decided to put it where the old mural used to be in the pocket park on 3rd and Main Street. The old mural was painted on plywood and when wood gets wet it falls apart, so it didn’t last.”...
