For years we’ve heard that it’s not a matter of if but when the big earthquake hits here. Occasionally, we feel a small quake and that possibility seems a little more real. Some helpful earthquake tips I've read include preparing an earthquake kit, making a family communication plan, remaining calm, keeping heavy objects on lower shelves, strapping appliances to the wall studs or bolting them to the floor, rehearsing earthquake drills with family members, etc...

Ethics Commission dismisses complaint against Pate

The Arkansas Ethics Commission has dismissed a complaint filed against Gosnell Water Association general manager and former Gosnell City Councilman John Pate in October 2018 when he was running for mayor of Gosnell. According to a letter from the commission to Pate, former Gosnell City Councilman Eric Blount alleged that in 2016 Pate used city equipment to demolish a condemned home on a property next to his residence without paying to city for use of the equipment. ...
