BPD to fill captain opening

The Blytheville Police and Fire Committee held a special meeting Monday to discuss potential rehires, all ranked sergeant or above, by the Blytheville Police Department (BPD) as well as current departmental staffing. Police Chief Ross Thompson reported to the committee that BPD currently has 30 officers and is budgeted for 39. During 2017, they received approximately 60 applications and have hired one of those applicants with two others pending start dates. Three are still being assessed...
