LOTD winner is full-time student with two jobs

India Kuykendall, 19-year old 2015 graduate of Gosnell High School, was named the 14th Annual Miss Lights of the Delta for 2017. She is also the only resident of Mississippi County to ever win the title. By virtue of her crown, she will now compete for the title of 80th Annual Miss Arkansas in June at the renovated Robinson Auditorium in Little Rock. Shooting suspect arraigned

Markus Gentry, 27, was arraigned in Blytheville District Court, Wednesday, in connection with a shooting last Thursday in the 2100 block of McHaney. According to Capt. Scott Adams, on Tuesday, Gentry appeared before Judge Shannon Langston via court television regarding the incident, but he "became violent and disruptive with the court and was held in contempt. Bond was not set and the arraignment was not completed."...

City makes Laclede and Walnut intersection a four-way stop

In response to several accidents in the area, the city of Blytheville has converted the intersection of Laclede and Walnut into a four-way stop. "We have been having a number of Motor Vehicle Accidents at Walnut and Laclede," Blytheville assistant police chief Ricky Jefferson said. "After careful consideration we have decided to make the intersection a four-way stop to try to prevent some of these collisions."...
