Thelma Mae Morris, 78, longtime Manila resident and widow of Orville "Cotton" Morris, passed from this life Saturday, March 5, 2016, at the Monette Manor Nursing Center. Born in Steele, Mo., she was the daughter of the late Claude and Effie Mae Lott Atkinson and had lived in Manila for the past 56 years. A 5-year-old boy was struck by a car at 10th and Dixie Friday and taken a day later to Great River Medical Center, where doctors treated a large abrasion on his torso and his sprained left wrist.
