Marvin Earl Bell, born on July 27, 1943, was a quiet, typical honor roll member of the Blytheville Class of 1961, who volunteered for military service when his country called. The former caddie at the Blytheville Golf Course was known as "Peanut" by those that knew and loved him and his life was cut short, but he has not been forgotten...

Crawford attempting to address workforce issues

U.S. Congressman Rick Crawford visited Blytheville Monday to speak at the Blytheville/Gosnell Chamber of Commerce's August luncheon regarding a special council commissioned to address workforce problems in the Delta. Crawford said that the council is "galvanized around work ethic," and that the area has jobs that it needs to fill with a qualified workforce, but that the council wants to find alternate routes to empowering the district's workers without "waiting around for the federal government to get their act together.". ...
