As always, the Humane Society shelter is adopting dogs and their spots are filled almost immediately. A large brindle Great Dane mixed with "not sure" found a home this week, where he will have a large yard and a couple of buddy dogs. The family who was fostering Weezer (Schnauzer) finalized his adoption as did the family who was fostering Tony (Yorkie mix). ...

Young awarded Act 2! scholarship

Armorel High School senior, Alex (Ally) Young, has been awarded the Act 2! LaGene Hampton Scholarship for 2015. The presentation was made by Act 2! President Candie Groves during the May 12 scholarship ceremony at Armorel High School. The Act 2! LaGene Hampton Scholarship is named in honor of LaGene Hampton, former longtime Blytheville resident and one of the founding members of the Blytheville Very Little Theatre and Act 2!...

Armorel's 10-0 defeat of Taylor in the 1A state championship game Friday afternoon at Baum Stadium capped a incredibly successful spring season. Not just for the Tigers but for all three area schools and especially their seniors.
