Carolyn Alford Richardson, 77, of Blytheville, passed away early Friday morning at Heritage Square Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

I would like to take this opportunity to publicly thank the staff of the Great River Medical Center for the excellent treatment I received on May 28, 2014. My husband rushed me to the hospital for what I thought would be a routine short visit; however, after an examination by the emergency room doctor, I was sent to Jonesboro immediately, where I was sent directly to surgery. The doctor in Jonesboro said that quick action in Blytheville saved my life...

The Blytheville Social Arts Club will have a 70th Anniversary Tea from 3-5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11 at Pilgrim Rest MB Church. The club was organized on Oct. 10, 1944. Members of the club will be dressed in period clothing and present popular foods from the 1940s-2000. The history of the club and its past members will be discussed. The public is invited...

Mearl Lee McCormick, 70, of Caraway, died Sunday, Oct. 5, 2014, at the NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro.
