Mr. James Bernard Cypress, 59, of Osceola, formerly of Lepanto, died Sunday, March 23, 2014, at South Mississippi County Medical Center in Osceola.

Giant puppets will take the stage of the Ritz Civic Center at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, when The Arts Council of Mississippi County hosts Bits 'N Pieces Puppet Theatre with their giant puppet musical, "Three Billy Goats Gruff."

Mississippi County now has an ordinance that gives county officials a course of action for dealing with abandoned and unsightly properties that pose a health or safety issue to surrounding residents.

The parents suing Blytheville Public Schools over its decision to opt out of school choice is now offering the district a "no-strings-attached" way out of the lawsuit, provided the school board votes to opt in to choice for the 2014-15 school term.
