LaVerne Baker, 81, of Blytheville, passed from this life Thursday, Nov. 28, 2013, at Gosnell Health Care.

I have to give My Dear Sweet Sainted Wife credit, she can cook up a storm. She gets a little frantic sometimes when things don't proceed exactly to plan, but this year everything went off as smooth as can be.

A Blytheville man is facing assault and armed criminal action charges after allegedly seriously beating a Steele man with a gun and a claw hammer.
