Fundraising efforts are underway for the community to help support the family of a local girl suffering from a rare disease. Eight-year-old Layne Chancery is in the third grade at Gosnell Elementary, and she is undergoing treatment for re-occuring germ cell tumors.

Registration is taking place now for the Northeast Arkansas Junior Golf League. In Blytheville, the league will begin at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, at Thunder Bayou Golf Links.
