William Thomas "Bill" Stewart, 89, of Blytheville, passed from this life Tuesday, March 6, 2012, at his home.

Mr. James O. King, 48, of Blytheville died Tuesday, March 6, 2012, at Great River Medical Center in Blytheville.

It is now approaching a time when the citizens of Blytheville must make a crucial decision concerning the payroll tax debt owed by the city to the IRS. Tuesday, March 13, 2012, they must decide on a proposed 1-cent sales tax increase which will span over a 15-month period and be used for the repayment of this debt...

Another season at the Blytheville Youth Sportsplex is under way. For the Weld family, this marks our eighth consecutive season of playing some combination of t-ball, baseball and softball.

City Council President Monte Hodges spoke to the Blytheville Lions Club Tuesday in place of Mayor James Sanders, who is making the civic club rounds promoting the Blytheville 1-cent sales tax on the March 13 ballot.

Long-awaited road work finally began Tuesday in Blytheville. Streets getting work include Ruddle at Melody Lane, Broadway at Moultrie, North 10th at Highland, Park Street and West McHaney and South 16th.

The Delta Gateway Museum in downtown Blytheville will host the next Heirloom Saturdays at the Museum event from 10 a.m.-noon Saturday. The theme is vintage toys and games.
