My 12-year-old daughter, Katie, and one of her friends had their photo taken Sunday afternoon in the cotton field that is behind our house. Probably a good thing they got it taken when they did, for by Monday night, all the cotton in that field had been picked.

Mississippi County Republicans held a "straw poll" for the Republican Presidential candidates at their Chili Cookoff booth Saturday. There were 192 voters who participated in the poll. ARMOREL-- The Armorel Tigers got off to a rough start to the 2011-12 year with a 65-48 loss to the Marmaduke Greyhounds Tuesday night. The Greyhounds led from start to finish.
