Mr. Hershel "Hoyt" Johnson, 77, of Crown Point, Ind., formerly of Manila, died Saturday, June 4, 2011, at the St. Margaret Mercy Hospital in Dyer, Ind.

Ms. Edna Woodard Benton, 58, of Marked Tree, died of heart failure at Three Rivers Nursing Home in Marked Tree.

Brody Cash Gifford was recently born to Anna G. Weidman and Jim C. Gifford of Blytheville.

Rep. Rick Crawford says five Arkansas airports will receive more than $1.01 million in Federal Aviation Administration grants to improve quality and safety.

Although its new plant expansion will add only a dozen jobs to the Blytheville area, Nibco of Blytheville can now maintain 19 positions that would have been moved elsewhere, and protect the jobs of its 250 regular employees.

Mrs. Willie Mae Real, 86, of Rockford, Ill., formerly of Steele, departed this earthly life Saturday, May 28, 2011, at Rockford Memorial Hospital, after a short illness.
