JONESBORO -- Without ace Matt Wierzbicki, the Blytheville Chickasaws dropped both games of a 5A-East doubleheader with Nettleton, Wednesday. Nettleton won the first game, 18-0, in five innings behind a no-hitter from Mikey Lack. The Chicks (2-8, 0-4) committed six errors, including five in the infield behind hurler Braxton Champion...

TROY, Tenn. -- Veteran Armorel coach Charlie Brown may have had some tougher losses in his 27 years of coaching, but there probably hasn't been many to rival his team's 11-10 eighth inning loss here Wednesday night to the Obion County Central Rebels. Mr. Bondail Austin, 69, of Leachville, passed away Tuesday April 5, 2011, at his home.

Wednesday at 3:15 p.m., the Blytheville Fire Department investigated a house fire, apparently caused by unattended cooking.

A Blytheville man will again face a murder charge in Mississippi Circuit Court next week.

A Springfield, Tenn., resident received a $2.08 million judgment from the owner of a local nightclub after a non-jury trial last week in Blytheville Circuit Court.

Central Elementary School held its K-4 Family Night Tuesday at the school.

"This Person" that he mentioned does know better and should have used better judgment -- blame it on personal issues, work-related stress or just out having a good time -- but blame is just another word for excuse. ...

I find myself compelled to write another letter to the editor after reading a story of how one attorney sees that breaking the law by driving over the legal limit is OK: 1. As long as you can come up with a story or belief that the officer, that made the arrest, had no reason to stop a drunk driver in the first place or;...
