A Blytheville police officer is in critical condition at The Regional Medical Center in Memphis after being injured in an accident while in pursuit of a suspect Thursday evening, police said.

Mr. Hugh Dixon, 95, of Murfreesboro, Tenn., formerly of Blytheville, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2011, at NHC Health Care in Murfreesboro.

Alice Alberta "Birdie" Barker, 88, of the Milligan Ridge Community, near Caraway, passed from this life Thursday, Jan. 13, 2011, at the Monette Manor Nursing Center.
