Many of the members of the Rotary Club of Blytheville were rewarded Thursday as they were informed of the possibility of receiving money as State Auditor Dennis Milligan told them of “The Great Arkansas Treasure Hunt”.
Milligan and members of his staff were in Blytheville Thursday where they met with Mississippi County Judge John Alan Nelson, County Treasurer Candi Nichols, and finished the day with lunch with members of Rotary.
“I want to be known as the state auditor who has given back the most money in unclaimed property of any state auditor in history,” Milligan said. “Just this morning, I returned more than $13,000 to Mississippi County Judge John Nelson. Last November, I located more than $87,000 for the Blytheville-Gosnell Regional Airport.”
During his presentation, Milligan stated several members in attendance were owed money.
“I love getting to tell Arkansans that their checks are in the mail,” explained Milligan. “Since I took office in January 2023, we have returned more than $60 million in unclaimed property to citizens.”
Milligan told the attendees that one in four Arkansans are owed money.
Milligan urged Rotarians to spread the word to family members and friends.
