Clyde Edwon Douglas, 77, of Lake City, passed from this life Saturday, July 20, 2024, at his home. Born in Adona, Ark., he was the son of the late John and Nona Caudell Douglas and was raised in Caraway. He was a 1966 graduate of Caraway Central High School and later joined the U.S. Air Force serving in Thailand. He worked many years as a mechanical engineer for Lockheed Martin Aeronautics in Ft. Worth, Texas, and was a member of Gateway Church. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an antique car and aviation enthusiast. Edwon was also a historian with an extensive knowledge of the Civil War and Texas history in particular. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Raymon Douglas, James Douglas and Alvin Douglas.

He is survived by two daughters, Ronna Trimble of Mulberry and Lori Owens (Brad) of Bandon, Ore.; five brothers, Charlie Douglas (Nadean) of Black Oak, LeRoy Douglas (Mattie) of Lake City, Joe Douglas (Judith) of Jacksonville, Floyd Douglas (Shirley) of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and Troy Douglas (Betty) of Black Oak. He also leaves two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 24, in the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila with pastor Brady Canright officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the Caraway Cemetery. The family will receive visitors Wednesday from 12:00 noon until service time at the funeral home. Active pallbearers will be Mark Douglas, Greg Douglas, Hunter Douglas, David Douglas, Jonathan Douglas, Chad Douglas, Jim Kalinoski and Christopher Douglas. Honorary pallbearers will include Ted Douglas, Tommy French, Rick Wilkins, Andrew Ray, Derek McCormick and the Caraway Tigers Class of ‘66.
