Elsie Witt

Elsie Witt, 96, passed away July 10, 2024, in Tyronza. Born Feb. 1, 1928, to William Frank Smith and Maudie Smith, Elsie lived a life marked by devotion to her family and community.

Elsie is survived by her loving daughters, Annie Chapman and Peggy Eldridge, both of Tyronza; and her sister, Helen Turner of Payneway. She was a cherished grandmother to seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren. Her life was preceded in death by her son, Ricky Witt; her parents; six brothers and four sisters.

Visitation will be held Friday, July 12, from 2:3-3:30 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Tyronza. A funeral service will be conducted immediately afterward at 3:30 p.m. with pastor Tommy Jordan officiating. Elsie will be laid to rest at Tyronza Cemetery.

Wilson Funeral Home of Tyronza is assisting the family with arrangements. Elsie’s legacy of love and kindness will be remembered by all who knew her.
