Dr. Willean Beatrice Jones

Dr. Willean Beatrice Jones was born Oct. 28, 1972, in Osceola to L.B. and Rosemary Coleman. Dr. Jones accepted Christ into her life at an early age and was baptized at the True Light Baptist Church in Blytheville under the leadership of the late Reverend Horace Howard. On Thursday, June 27, 2024, at the NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro, Dr. Willean Jones transitioned home to be with the Lord at the age of 51. Willean’s life was defined by her love for God and her passion for education and children. She graduated from Blytheville High School in 1991, she went on to study engineering at Arkansas State University. After her Bachelor Degree she earned two Master’s degrees and a PHD in Philosophy of Education. She started her first teaching job in the Osceola School District as a math teacher, and has taught in several school districts over the last 26 years. She loved music, traveling and had a great sense of humor. She loved to help others, especially children, and had a special love for her sorority. She became a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. She was initiated into the Lambda Sigma Omega Chapter in 2008. She was a part of the chapter line known as the “13 priceless Pearls”.

She was preceded in death by her father, LB Coleman Sr.; one sister, Jessica Coleman; grandparents, Robert and Willie Coleman of Joiner, her paternal grandfather, Edward Brooks of Chicago, Ill., and Deacon Dave and Levater Pinkney of Blytheville.

She leaves to cherish her memory her mother, Lady Rosemary Coleman; two sons, Julius Jawaan Jones and Trevor Jarrod Jones; a daughter, Teilia Elaine Jones, four brothers, LB (Matunda) Coleman Jr. of Memphis, Tenn., Robert Lakes Jr., of Oklahoma City, Okla., Kristoffer (Tamara) Lakes of Memphis, and honorary brother, Joseph Wright of Blytheville; nephews, Marquice Traveon Coleman, Landon Coleman, Robert and Braylon Lakes; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held Saturday, July 6, from 10-11 a.m. at Loving Jesus Ministry 607 Eldorado Drive, Blytheville. Service will follow at 11 a.m. Interment will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Blytheville.
