Julia Ann Box

Julia Ann Box, 72, of Manila, widow of Horace Box, passed from this life Monday, Jan. 23, 2023, at the Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. Born in Washington, D.C., she was the daughter of the late Paul and Maxine Thompson Churchwell. Julia was retired from the United States Air Force and was a member of the First United Pentecostal Church in Manila. Julia was a very generous, gracious lady and she enjoyed shopping on QVC. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Susan Amos.

She is survived by one stepson, Horace Robson of Forrest City; two stepdaughters, Tanya Fleeman (Duane) of Manila and Rebecca Grubbs (Jason) of North Carolina. She also leaves several grandchildren and great-grandchildren and a very special friend, Nancy White.

Graveside services will be 3 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 26, at the Manila Cemetery with Pastor Robert White officiating. Services are under the direction of Howard Funeral Service of Manila. No visitation is scheduled. Online guest register: www.howardfuneralservice.com
